A word from Pro Plasters new General Manager…
As the new General Manager of Pro Plaster Products, I would like to introduce myself by providing a brief outline of my background. I am a plasterer by trade and worked in the industry for over 16 years before I made the transition to a sales role for Pro Plaster in 2004. In the past 6 years, my position in the sales team progressed to my most recent role as National Sales Manager. In this role I focussed on strengthening the Pro Plaster brand in interstate areas.
Now, as General Manager, one of my goals for Pro Plaster is to take what we do well and do it better! This applies to both the products we offer and the way we service our customers.

Since commencing my new position in March, the Pro Plaster team has had some great successes to celebrate. In early April, our newly relocated Gaven store opened and valued members of our team Mark and Courteney saw 3 and 1 years respectively of service with Pro Plaster. This month also sees the Pro Plaster Kunda Park trade centre on the Sunshine Coast turning 2!
On another note, the year thus far has been one of challenges with the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) continuing to impact many industries throughout the world. In Australia, economists believe that overall the construction industry will see improvements in the near future. This will be largely assisted by government initiatives such as the Building and Education Revolution projects commencing in the next 6-12 months. Whilst we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, there are other countries that have been harder hit than ourselves.

Recently I attended the Australian Wall and Ceiling Industries (AWCI) Expo in the USA. Although booth and visitor attendance was well down on previous years, Pro Plaster managed to pick up some great new and innovative products! We are currently trialling their performance in the market, so watch this space…!!!
Finally, I want to encourage everyone to talk to us by visiting the Contact Us page on our website. Whether you are in one of the top AFL or NRL team, even fighting for the V8 Supercar Championship with Courtney, Wincup and Lowndes – each team is trying to improve and be leaders in their field.
Pro Plaster is no different, so please tell us what you think of our business. What do we do well? What could we do better? It is important to us to continually improve our business for you. We also recognise that your time is valuable, so we will send you a small gift of thanks for sharing your comments.
I and the rest of the Pro Plaster team look forward to our shared successes in the new financial year!
